Premium Pool Arena

Review

Hey mate, how are you going? Should we have a bet on the pool table or just play for fun! Well, whatever tickles your fancy! In Premium Pool Arena you can get it all . . . so, this is the question; are you ready for a game of pool?

Premium Pool Arena is a casual / sport game which you can play against your friends, online opponents or the computer.

As you reach the main menu, you will be able to click into nine different menus. Four of them will be for online gaming (Quick play, Casual, Friends and Play online), challenges, play offline, shop and the other are options and your profile. In the offline mode, you can play against the computer or a local opponent. There is another gameplay called speed, where you have to clear the table as fast as you can.

The game play is simple and easy but very fun. With each new game you play, the side of the table will change colour, giving you a fresh approach. In terms of the game play, you can use your mouse and keyboard or your gamepad.  In a nutshell, place your cue on the selected ball. Figure out the angle, the spin and the power and you will hopefully sink the ball into the appropriate hole. Occasionally, you might sink the ball in an unintended hole, but it doesn’t matter due to the fact that you sunk it.

If you play against a friend, online or quick play, you can choose to bet on each game. If each fo you bet 100 coins and you are the winner, you’ll pick up 200 coins. If you have amalgamated enough coins, you will be able to buy better queues at the shop and new coloured balls.

I played this game online with one of my moderators (Piston Smashed) without any lags (he is located in the UK and I am in Australia) which was really fun.

Graphically, the game looks good and the controls works well. I personally prefer to use the mouse and keyboard rather than the gamepad. I must admit that I had difficulty finding another opponent online.

Positives

+ Nice graphics
+ Table changes colours each game
+ Online and off-line modes
+ Easy to play
+ Achievements and trading cards

Negatives

- Hard to find an online game

Review Summary

The aim of the game is to sink all your balls without sinking the ball number 8. Whether you’re playing against the computer or an online opponent, Premium Pool Arena is really fun!
