Potata: Fairy Flower

Review

As a young witch, Potata, our young protagonist, lives in the beautiful lands of the Fairy Forest; a land balanced with both good and bad aspects for you to overcome. Your adventure starts innocently enough as you begin your first quest for your mother, gathering a couple of items for her. But what begins as a simple task soon becomes dangerous, both for you and the entire Fairy Forest. You will meet many incredible characters along the way, as well as dangerous creatures and deadly terrain. With secrets to find, puzzles to challenge your mind, as well as epic boss fights that will leave you with a justified feeling of accomplishment when you beat them. Are you ready to begin your adventure into the Fairy Forest?

Released on Dec 17, 2019, by the developer Potata Company, and self-published, it is an Indie action-adventure game with some RPG elements. It features a colorful fantasy world that is well designed, a fun and at times challenging parkour, and a delightful casual soundtrack setting the flow of the game. Large maps to explore for secrets and quest items, with semi non-linear gameplay as some areas may be traversed multiple ways. Challenging Boss fights to test your platforming skills with some bullet-hell-like fights. An imaginative story to unfold as you go further and further into Fairy Forest.

I am very impressed with the quality of the title; I have had a magnificent time with my game-play so far. It has casual to challenging game-play that players of most skill levels can enjoy. The artwork of the title is imaginative and visually striking, and is accompanied by a magical soundtrack that matches the game wonderfully. The varying parkour is a lot of fun and not overly challenging; I have had a lot of fun exploring the different chapters in search of items and secrets. It has a very interesting set of mechanics driving the title and it was a blast discovering them. With a very fair price point for the amount of gameplay, it is great value for one's library. With the latest patch fixing most of the issues I had with the title I am able to score it higher then I would have pre-patch :D I did notice a couple of typos that I will post to the developer for patching and will not hold it against the title.

Now it is time to decide if this quaint li’l Indie title is of interest to you, and either add it to your cart or add it to your wish list for a later date.
