Postal 4: No Regerts

Review

What can go wrong when you are travelling around the U.S. of A in a recreational vehicle (motorhome)? I guess, probably a lot of things can go south at any given time. And sometimes you can be extremely unlucky. The following story happened to a dude and his dog, Champ. As his RV toilet was totally plugged up and unusable, this dude’s bowel was becoming increasingly active while he was at the wheel. In a moment of deep distress and constant cramping from his lower abdomen, he passed a sign that showed the location of the next service station location, which was just a mile away.  Having held on as best he could, he reached the station, and with great urgency ran to the toilet wearing nothing but his underpants and a strange purple overcoat. His beloved four-legged guard dog followed him happily, as if it was some sort of game. While releasing Armageddon into a small cubical, he realised that he had left the RV keys in the ignition. That’s right, that dude came out relieved but without wheels! To my standards, that would certainly be a shitty start to a day!

Postal 4: No Regrets is a first person/action game, developed and published by Running With Scissors on the 14th of October 2019 in early access.

Your dude will enter the town of Edensin where he will either look for jobs or just create chaos within the community. Right now, the game has 5 jobs you can access, and it will take you around an hour and a half to finish them all. You might choose to drive around town with the electric mobility scooter and bump into people and animals. These things are rather difficult to drive I must say, and you might find your dude tumbling more than once. The good news is that it won’t have big effect on your health, as you will be travelling at a slow pace.

You’ll find plenty of weapons, ammunition, medikits and other objects around town. These items can be found on the ground and/or in houses. You’ll find quite a large number of items if you decide to do the 5 jobs available at this point. If you walk around with any sort of weapon, people might freak out and even attack you, either bear-handed or with weapons. I haven’t been attacked by cats, but I did encounter a few bites from angry little doggies. Be aware of cactii as they will inflict damage to your character as you touch them.

It also seems that your dude has an enlarged prostate, causing a constant flow of urine. It would be proper to use toilets, but you can easily unzip wherever you feel like it. I eventually did this, opening my fly and blessing whoever was pissing by (sorry, passing by)!

Graphically the game looks ok and there are plenty of settings available to you. It’s really early access right now and they have a long way to go. But for what I saw and played, it’s pretty decent so far, and I look forward to seeing more updates.
