LoveKami -Divinity Stage-

Review

It has been a year since the Goddesses and humans learned to live together. Seven of them have become idols and they are well known as the L☆SEVEN idol group (singing, dancing). The word around Akihabara, the centre of this idol culture, is that L☆SEVEN is looking to add an eighth Goddess to the group. The Fans are going absolutely bonkers and so are you!

LoveKami Divinity Stage is an Anime / Visual Novel where you read this novel via the perspective of a young man called Yamato Tatsumi.

I must admit up front that LoveKami Divinity Stage is my first Hentai type of game that I have played and I was quite surprised at the outcome. Firstly, I enjoyed the story. The idea of goddesses who cohabit with people with a view to learning from each other as well as spreading happiness towards the human race is an appealing one. In this Novel, the idol L☆SEVEN group is the main vehicle through which these qualities are portrayed, and they have an enormous fan base.

As I mentioned above, you will take on the role of Yamato Tatsumi, the son of a well-known tailor, who designs splendid outfits for the goddesses. Yamato will converse with three goddesses; the first one is the main singer of the L☆SEVEN group, and the other two are in the competition to become the eighth member of this incredibly popular act. What I really enjoyed here was the different types of characters, each with totally different views on things.  The fact that they are helped by a human to strive towards their goals is cool. The dialogue is pretty good and easy to read. Occasionally, tips will pop up on the screen to describe new terminology, which helps the reader to put the dots together. At one stage, Yamato with have to choose one of three paths which will lead to one of three endings; this is the only time you will get to choose the direction of the game. Personally, I would have liked to have more of these options throughout the story, which would have added more re-playability.  Videos will play here and there to break the reading sequences, giving the reader a little bit of breathing time to reflect on what’s going on.

Now let’s have a look at the visuals, which was one of my concerns in the hentai concept game. To be honest with you I had quite a few giggles here and there with these voluptuous goddesses who occasionally show skin and panties. Bear in mind, I am writing from an adult’s point of view. I can understand why these type of games (visual novels) are popular with teens and I must admit it is well done.  The eyes and mouth of the characters will move during the conversation and show some expressions too.

Nice graphics all round with a very good soundtrack.

Positives

+ Good story
+ Character thread well-designed
+ Easy to read
+ Good learning message
+ Achievements and trading cards

Negatives

- Need more choosing options / give more control to the reader

Review Summary

LoveKami Divinity stage is a nice story with good, easy dialogue. An enjoyable visual Novel.
