Legacy - Witch Island 2

Review

You were rescued as a baby at sea in a floating cot. Now, as an adult, travelling at sea is not your forte, which doesn’t help when the yacht you are on suddenly encounters a terrible storm at sea. When you went to bed and fell asleep with your favourite crocodile toy, the sea was calm and smooth. However, waking up is a different experience as you have the sensation of being in a giant washing machine before falling unconscious and making your way slowly to the ocean bed. This time, you are rescued by a mermaid as she casts a bubble spell which lifts you up to the shore of the same mystical Island where you defeated a dangerous witch. It seems that the witch has somehow resurrected her powers. Will you beat the evil witch again in Legacy – Witch Island 2?

Legacy – Witch Island 2 is a hidden objects adventure game developed by Itera Laboratories and published by HH-Games on the 3rd of October 2020 on the Steam platform.

The major improvement in this second game of the series is the graphics, which are clearer and with more vibrant colours. I also like the fact that the developers have included some fun animations in some of the areas you’ll visit, and I am particularly fond of the crocodile toy, which is located on the bottom right of your screen next to the hint gauge. When you move to a new screen, he runs, and when you successfully finish a puzzle, he jumps in the air with his fist up. It’s rather cute.

The downside is the game’s length, which will take barely three hours to complete. On the upside, I think the game is well suited for everyone from seven years up. The puzzle and mini-games were quite good and might be challenging for the seven to ten year-olds. Regarding the story, it might be best if you played the first game, but it won’t take you too long to figure out what was the outcome of the first game.

The hidden objects puzzles are pretty good as the objects are well-blended into the image. Unfortunately, I feel that there are too few of them, which is a bit of a shame.

Another point I like is that the hint button won’t show you what an object will look like in the hidden objects puzzles. However, it will show you where to go next on the map and where to place some of the items you collected. And that is fairly standard in these types of games. There are three levels of difficulty, which guide how long the hint button will take to recharge.

The graphics are much better than in the previous game. The story is ok overall, but nothing more. The game runs well, and I haven’t encountered any issues.
