Incredible Dracula: Witches' Curse

Review

Imagine being a witch and realising that you’ve lost the magic touch. Not only that, but it’s right before the annual Witch’s Festival; a festival that is so renowned in the fairy kingdom that even the count Dracula, his wife and their servants, have never missed one. Unfortunately, the amulet which contains the Power Stone has vanished, and all witches are without a trick up their sleeve without it. Don’t despair, the Draculas are well famous for obvious reasons, but also for helping people out of trouble. And Ellis, the leader of the Witch Clan, is desperately in need of his help in Incredible Dracula: Wishes’ Curse.

Incredible Dracula: Wishes’ Curse is a casual game developed by Platinum Games and Published by Alawar Premium on the 14th of November 2019 on Steam.

I am quite fond of the character with pointy teeth, as I had the opportunity to review the game where he was chasing love in 2016. From there to now, four other games, which I have not had the pleasure of playing, have been released prior to the Witches’ Curse.  In Witches’ Curse, Dracula will have to find 8 items within 50 levels to defy three old witches who are seeking eternal youth via any magic available.

In each level, there will be up to four tasks to complete as fast as possible in order to win the level and collect three gold stars. You can’t miss the lovely Dracula family, as they will be standing somewhere in the level next to their beautiful white chariot. As with all games of this genre, each level is filled with paths littered with obstacles. At the top of Dracula’s chariot, you’ll see 3 or 4 zombies’ heads; these are your servants. Each time you click on an obstacle, one of your servants will move towards the obstacle and remove it; the obstacle could be logs of wood, food, crystals, crates and/or other objects.  You’ll also see damaged buildings and will need the right number of resources to repair or upgrade them.

As you progress through the game, you’ll receive skills which you will be able to use to help you complete the level faster. Skills include having all your characters moving faster, workers who can repair a building super-fast, or being able to produce resources quicker for a short period of time. It will take several minutes to regenerate these skills after you activate them.

You’ll also be able to create magic, which you can do by collecting a certain number of one resource plus one other item (Eg. 10 units of fire and a magic parchment.  With these spells, you’ll be able to knock down mirrors with the help of Frankenstein (a mate of yours), transform creatures, destroy three orbs and other things.

There are three levels of difficulty in this game: casual, hard and relax. You won’t need to worry about time in the relax difficulty, whereas in the hard difficulty, time will decrease rather fast, making it more challenging to complete all tasks and pick up three golden stars.

Nice graphics and the game runs smoothly. It’s easy to play with your mouse, and the story is fun. It will take you around 9 hours to finish the game, and a bit longer if you want to complete all levels with three stars.

Negatives

Review Summary

The Malbon annual Witches’ Festival might not happen this year. It’s a job for the Incredible Dracula for sure!
