I Fell From Grace

Review

You work for the one most dynamic and innovative companies in the world. No matter what field you’re in, it’s always a struggle to be noticed, wouldn’t you agree? What if one of your loved ones was suffering a terminal illness - what would you do?  Especially if your expertise was in medical research. That’s exactly what happened to Henry and his wife, Grace. But then another twist occurred in I fell from Grace. You’ll have to discover it.

I Fell from Grace is an adventure / puzzle game were you take on the role of Henry, who works at the Liebermann Research Group Laboratory, his job is in the balance and his wife is terminally ill. Until  . . .

The game starts with one of Henry’s nightmares. He wakes up distressed on his sofa and, as usual, late for work. After checking on Grace and finding his keys, he makes his way to work.

The game takes place in three different locations: at Henry’s home, at his work, and downtown. There are plenty of places, rooms to visits and characters to talk too. Make sure to carefully read each of your interactions as they’ll have important hints for you to gather in order to move to the next stage of the story.

The story is pretty grim, but interesting nonetheless, and it will take you some time to figure out what to do and where to use specific items from your inventory. If you’re like me, you’ll spend a few hours exploring the available areas, familiarising yourself with the landscape, and interacting with people.

One aspect I really like about this game is the cut scenes; they will be frequent, entertaining and even really quite strange at times.  I must admit that it took me a while to really get into the game; I was expecting to find more items to use within each location.  The puzzles are not easy to complete.

I personally really like the pixel graphics; the soundtrack is very good and enhances more than once the gloomy atmosphere that the game portrays. You can use your mouse and keyboard or a gamepad to play this game.

Positives

+ Nice pixel graphics
+ A fair few areas to explore
+ Interesting story, characters and cut scenes
+ Challenging puzzles
+ Achievements

Negatives

- Not many items to find, pick up and use
- No trading cards at this stage

Review Summary
