Glass Masquerade 3: Honeylines

Review

Glass Masquerade 3: Honeylines is a jig-saw puzzle game where you place fragments into a round window and create a picture. There are thirty puzzles within six categories; these are displayed within the wings of a butterfly, with the main body displaying the image from a completed puzzle.

Below the butterfly are your options and start button after selecting which puzzle to play. Although you will only be able to play the unlocked puzzles, as you complete a puzzle it will unlock those around it, allowing you to play them too. The options you have are Board Cut, Statistics, Difficulty and Play Mode. There are four types of Board Cuts: Shards, Honeycomb, Chemistry and Random.  These are the different shapes that you will fit together to complete the image and can add a bit of difficulty to your game.

There are two difficulties with the game: Relax and High. The Relax difficulty allows you to play without the need to rotate the fragments to fit within the puzzle image. With the High difficulty, you will have to rotate the fragments so that they fit within a puzzle image. Playing High difficulty may take you longer to complete a puzzle.

The fragments are shown around the outside of the puzzle image in the centre of the screen. You click on a fragment and then move it to where you want to place it. If you have correctly placed the fragment, it will be added to the image. If you place it in an incorrect position, it will rejoin the fragments surrounding the puzzle board. Not all the fragments are shown around the board, but they will become available to you one by one as you successfully place each available piece.

Once you have completed a puzzle you will see the time it took to complete.  On the level select screen, it will also show you the number of badges (achievements) that you have completed for that puzzle. You can turn off the badges and just play at your own speed should you wish.

There are five Play Modes: Flood, Iris, Bowl, Classic and Random. Each of the game modes will have their own rules while the random game mode will start with one of the other game modes.

In the options you will find settings for:

Graphics - Screen Resolution, Fullscreen, V Sync, Anti-Aliasing and Render Scale. Sound – Sounds and Music Volume Controls.

Game - Language (English, Russian, German, Italian, Spanish, French and Simplified Chinese), Show Clues, Show Time Tracking in Gameplay, Show Accuracy in Gameplay, Show Stats on Thumbnails, Show Rotation of Fragments on Dials and Game Board Brightness.

Controls – Drag and Drop Fragments, Inverse Fragment Rotation, Inverse Dials Rotation, Split Dials Rotation and Alternate Fragments Rotation Key.

Glass Masquerade 3: Honeylines is a nice, relaxing puzzle game that you can play either at your own speed or against time limits. While it does have multiple game modes you play with the same images across all the game modes, albeit with different shaped puzzle pieces.
