Car Puzzler

Review

So, how do you get from point A to point B? It’s a very open question, don’t you think, as we have so many ways to reach our final destination. Maybe final destination is a bit too much, we’re all going to get there somehow! Despite my dark humour, how do you make your way from A to B? Most of us are using cars. But what if there is only one way to get there with plenty of restrictions. What do you get? Simple . . . Car Puzzler!

Car Puzzler is a casual Puzzle game where you have to move one or more cars to a certain destination on a small map.

There you are, tightly strapped in your driver’s seat and having to beat over 60 levels. The interesting thing is that you really don’t know what the restrictions are at the start of each of each level. For example, how many cars will there be? Will you be able to cross paths, or not? The bugger in all of that is that you have to make sure that you pass through specific points on the way to point B. You might find that both the engine and your brain produce smoke at the same time – quite frequent with this game!

The levels are pretty much laid-out as grids, with some exceptions here and there. Let’s say, for example, that you have three cars of different colours on this level. Your starting point for each of your cars is a manhole within a partially-coloured circle, and you need to move your cars to their respective manholes indicated by a fully-coloured circle on the opposite part of the map.  On the way, each of your cars needs to pass over a smaller manhole of the same colour, while avoiding the paths of the other cars, in order to clear the level.  To make your radiator leak water before your first move, you have an additional starting point to choose from for each of your cars. Which one to choose? (I am sure you are starting to understand about the smoking analogy here). On top of that you don’t have any sort of help/hints in this game which makes it even harder, and much more fun as you truly have to find out what you can or can’t do. Maybe applying a bit of ice to cool your head might help!

You can also create your own levels within the game level editor, upload them and share them with the community, becoming a true brain torturer to your fellow gamers.

Great cartoon-style graphics. Only one track here, but it is mellow and is well suited for the game. In terms of the controls, I used the mouse and I found it very easy to play. The in-game level editor is really fun and very easy to use, too.
