Alice's Adventures: Hidden Objects

Review

Embark upon a journey into the wonderful, magical world of Alice. This time around, it will be all about searching the environment to find cleverly hidden objects, in Alice’s Adventures: Hidden Objects.

Alice’s Adventure: Hidden Objects was developed and published by Crisp App Studio, who specialize in this genre of games.

The game is divided into two parts: the first part has 14 levels while part two has 12 levels to complete. All the levels are made with a 360 degree panoramic view, which is very cool. You must win each of the stages to unlock the next. In this game, you’ll have to either find pairs of objects or find items that match the written word or image from the bar at the bottom of the screen.  Do this as fast as possible. As with all Hidden Objects games, you’ll have to scan the environment carefully and memorise the positions of all the objects.

There is a hint button which will show you where a specific item is placed within the surrounds. Personally, I use this function on the last object that I have to find, but only if I can’t pinpoint it. The reason I tend to do it this way is because each time you use the button, it will be 30 seconds before you can n re-use it. The other button is a camera lance; you can use this function if you are not sure what a word/label means. So, by clicking on the lance and on the word that you’re unsure of, an image will appear on your screen to show what the object is.

As you complete each level, you’ll be able to see where you stand on the current leaderboard, which is always fun - I even managed to grab the first position in one of the puzzles, which is unheard for me!

In between each stage, you’ll have a bit of a storyline. As I have neither seen the movie nor read the book, I can’t really tell you whether or not these lines are accurate. In my case, I thought it was a nice touch creating a further variation to the game.

The second part was far better than the first, as you have to redo the each of the scenes three times to unlock the next level, and you’ll be rewarded with collectables.

It will take you around 2 hours to finish the game, which is, in my opinion, a tad too short.

Graphically, most of the scenes are well done, and the items can be difficult to find. The soundtrack is very good and suits the game superbly. In terms of the controls, you use your mouse, and it works fine. I did encounter a minor bug in part one, which occurred during the transition from the story (text) screen and the next level. Usually, you can take your time to read the text and tap on your mouse button to continue.  Unfortunately, this was not the case for me; the text disappeared within a few seconds whether or not I tapped to continue. Strangely, it didn’t happen in part two.

Positives

+ Nice 360 panoramic levels
+ 26 levels to complete (12 of them as to be done three times in part two)
+ Great soundtrack
+ Achievements

Negatives

- A tad too short
- No trading cards as yet

Review Summary

A casual and fun Hidden Objects based on the Alice in Wonderland fairy tale.
